Hy-Vee goes live with pair of new ship-to-home websites

Hy-VeeDeals offers groceries in bulk, ShopPetship includes pet care subscription service

Expanding its online offerings, Hy-Vee has launched two new ship-to-home services, Hy-VeeDeals.com and ShopPetship.com, that sell bulk grocery products, home goods and pet supplies to shoppers nationwide.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee announced the new online stores late Wednesday. No membership fees are required for either service, the Midwestern food and drug retailer said, noting that ShopPetship.com also marks the debut of the company’s online subscription service.

Hy-VeeDeals.com now also offers bulk products in addition to aggregating all of the grocer’s weekly ads, digital coupons and special deals.

An existing website, Hy-VeeDeals.com aggregates all of the grocer’s weekly ads, digital coupons and hot deals, but the e-store now also offers bulk products that can be shipped directly to customers.

Through Hy-VeeDeals.com, customers can buy snacks to fill their pantry plus household essentials, cleaning products and housewares. Shoppers also can order household staples in bulk, saving time and money, as well as to take advantage of bulk savings offered via Hy-VeeDeals.com with a QR code displayed on store shelves, Hy-Vee said.

ShopPetShip.com, meanwhile, offers a broad assortment of pet food, treats and supplies. For extra convenience and time savings, customers also can enroll in subscription services to have pet supplies shipped directly to their homes, eliminating manual reordering, Hy-Vee said.

The launch of ShopPetship.com includes the debut of Hy-Vee's first online subscription service.

“Hy-Vee has been a leader in the e-commerce space for many years since the start of our Aisles Online service. With Hy-VeeDeals.com we can share bulk product deals with the entire country,” Hy-Vee Chairman and CEO Randy Edeker said in a statement. “Additionally, PetShip will bring a variety of pet products to shoppers across the country, along with our first subscription service option, which in return will save consumers time and money.” 

Hy-Vee has introduced a range of new online services in recent months, including on-demand alcohol delivery via DoorDash, a grocery e-commerce pilot for participants in the USDA’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and a telehealth and online pharmacy subsidiary called RedBox Rx.

Overall, Hy-Vee generates annual sales of over $12 billion and operates more than 285 stores in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
