SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Martin’s Super Markets will host its first “Live Well Week” Jan. 21-26 with special programming, sales and giveaways.

Stores in Warsaw, Granger, and Stevensville, Mich. — which contain a Martin’s School of Cooking — will hold free cooking classes on select dates that include a healthy eating tutorial and label-reading store tour.

The first 50 customers to bring a coupon from the Jan. 21 circular to any Martin’s Pharmacy location will receive a gift bag containing items such as a pedometer and a nutrition label reading guide, as well as samples and coupons. Select pharmacies will have free blood pressure screenings on Jan. 21 and 26.

The chain will also have sales on “healthier items” throughout the week, according to its Facebook page.

The week culminates with a Live Well Expo on Jan. 26 to be held at the three Martin’s School of Cooking locations. Customers will be able to sample smoothies, entrees and sides from Martin’s Kitchen Fresh line, and organic produce. The store pharmacies will provide free blood pressure screenings and other information.

Local businesses such as Weight Watchers and fitness centers will also participate in the expos with booths and demonstrations.
