Dillon Cos. Taps Scutt as VP

on Cos. here has appointed Paul Scutt vice president, effective July 13. He succeeds John Burgon, who was named president of Dillon's King Soopers division.

Scutt has worked for Dillon's parent company, Kroger Co., for the past 32 years, beginning as a grocery clerk and rising to various assignments in store management and operations management. For the last seven years, he was vice president of merchandising for Kroger's Central Marketing Area, based in Indianapolis.

Scutt will be responsible for overseeing Jackson's Ice Cream and Dairy and Wells Aircraft divisions, and will work with four Dillon supermarket divisions: Dillon Stores divisions in Kansas and Missouri; Fry's Food Stores in Arizona; and City Market in western Colorado. He will report to Warren F. Bryant, president and chief executive officer of Dillon Cos.

C&S Appoints Gross To Senior VP Post

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- C&S Wholesale Grocers said Mark Gross has joined the company as senior vice president and general counsel, a new position.

Gross is responsible for formulating and overseeing the company's legal strategies for all acquisitions and contractual issues, the company said. He reports to Rick Cohen, president.

Gross joins the company from the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, where he handled mergers, acquisitions financings, workouts and restructurings for such clients as Citibank, Chase Manhattan Bank and United Airlines.

Felpausch Advances Six in Management

HASTINGS, Mich. -- G&R Felpausch Co., a family-owned business with 19 supermarkets, seven pharmacies and three convenience stores in south central Michigan, has announced a series of changes within its management team.

Mark Feldpausch, formerly vice president of administration and secretary of the board, has been named chief executive officer and remains secretary of the board. In this new position, he reports to Parker T. Feldpausch, president.

Keith Tolger, formerly vice president of finance and treasurer, has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer; he remains treasurer. In this new position, he reports to Mark Feldpausch.

James Feldpausch, director of operations, has been named vice president of operations, a new position, and reports to Mark Feldpausch. In December, James Feldpausch will take over as vice president and chief operating officer, upon retirement of Marvin Chamberlain.

Three other members of the management team were advanced from the director level to the vice presidential level.

William Feldpausch has been named vice president of sales and marketing, a new position. He reports to James Feldpausch.

Kimberly Brubaker has been named vice president of human resources, and Michael Hubert has been named vice president of management information systems. Both positions are new. Brubaker and Hubert report to Mark Feldpausch.
