Winn-Dixie Promotes Valentine’s Surf & Turf

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — For shoppers celebrating Valentine’s Day at home, Winn-Dixie Stores will be making cooking easy with instructions for a special “Valentine’s Surf & Turf Meal.”

The step-by-step meal instructions, given by a Winn-Dixie executive chef, will be accessible via mobile QR codes and a website launching Feb. 8, www.winn-dixie.com/GiveLove, the retailer said in a release.

The ingredients for the meal — steak, lobster tails, baked potatoes, asparagus and chocolate-covered strawberries — will be placed together in Winn-Dixie’s “What’s for dinner” display case.

In addition to the meal, the retailer is also offering cake and cookie customization stations, gourmet chocolates, wine, cards, and flowers — including a promotion for a dozen long-stemmed roses for $24.99, as well as other bouquets, balloons and flowering plants starting at $7.99.

For Valentine’s Day shoppers on the run, Winn-Dixie is again creating a “Lovers Lane” express checkout lane where customers buying Valentine’s themed items can bypass standard lines.
