JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here said yesterday it is partnering with the Professional Golfers Association to bring a new entry in the PGA's nationwide tour here next October to benefit local charities.

The Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open will donate 100% of public ticket sales to non-profit organizations, the chain said.

According to Peter Lynch, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Winn-Dixie, "This event not only brings another first-class golf event to our hometown but it also provides much-needed financial support to hundreds of local non-profit organizations. In these challenging economic times, this is an innovative way for the charities to raise a significant amount of money all year long."
