MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P here lost $34.4 million on sales of $528 million during the four-week period that ended Aug. 13, according to a monthly operating report filed with U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
The loss included a net loss of $19 million from continuing operations, with the remainder resulting from reorganization items, taxes and discontinued operations.
The results indicated a sequential slowdown of sales and an increasing operating loss from the previous four weeks, when the company reported a $15.6 million loss from continuing operations on $558 million in sales.
