Bi-Lo Posts $2M Profit in October

Bi-Lo posted flat sales but swung to a net profit of $2 million during the month of October, the retailer said in an operating report filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Bi-Lo posted flat sales but swung to a net profit of $2 million during the month of October, the retailer said in an operating report filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court here.

The report, covering a four-week period ending Nov. 7, showed sales of $186.7 million and EBITDA of $5.5 million. Profits of $2 million were up from the same period last year, when Bi-Lo lost $12.6 million.

The company said it made a profit of $20.5 million on sales of $2.12 billion for the year-to-date. It lost $24.5 million over the same period in 2008.
