SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Beginning April 1, retail software and hardware provider Fujitsu Transaction Solutions will become part of Fujitsu America here, a new business unit that will also include the application services of Fujitsu Consulting and the system platforms of Fujitsu Computer Systems.

The move consolidates the company’s IT capabilities under one structure. Clients will benefit from a “simplified engagement model with improved accountability and greater access to the complete suite of integrated Fujitsu offerings,” the company said in a statement.

Fujitsu Transaction Solutions marketed POS and self-checkout systems; its grocery customers include Stop & Shop, H.E. Butt Grocery, Kroger, Loblaw and Schnuck Markets.
