SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Hannaford Bros. will begin piloting a task management system in its distribution center here on April 28, according to Ward Malmquist, operations manager for distribution at the facility. The system, from Reflexis Systems, Dedham, Mass., will be applied to the orientation process for new selectors hired by the facility, ensuring that none of the 36 tasks associated with the process “slip through the cracks,” said Malmquist. It will also be applied to Sarbanes-Oxley audits, and safety audits, among other procedures. Hannaford, based in Scarborough, Maine, has used the system to automate task management at its retail stores for the past two years.
