WASHINGTON — In the wake of the “pink slime” controversy, the American Meat Institute has announced the addition of a new summit on Lean Finely Textured Beef, to be held on Tuesday, May 1 at 10 a.m. during the annual AMI Expo, held this year in conjunction with FMI 2012 in Dallas.

Four speakers will discuss and analyze the economic impact on demand and the beef markets, consider potential regulatory implications, and examine media coverage of the issue, and its impact not only on LFTB, but on the entire meat and poultry industry.
