NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Meal solutions and consumer trends will highlight the activities of the annual Meat Marketing Conference, to be held here April 12 to 15 at the Opryland Hotel.

al sessions will probe for answers to the question, "Is the Meat Department the Destination for Meals Solutions?" while another will report on important consumer trends and how meat departments are, or should be, responding.

In addition, a product-tasting reception at the conference will be centered around products that can help meat departments offer meal solutions.

A special seminar on standardized coding for random weight meat sold in supermarkets will take place April 12, along with the meat marketing conference's annual committee meeting.

The general conference will then kick off the next day with the keynote speaker, AMI Chairwoman Mary Alice McKenzie, president of McKenzie Vermont, and go on to explore retail marketing, operational and educational issues in the beef industry.
