What will be the biggest drivers of beef purchases in 2014? How are consumers deciding what to pick at the meat case and on the menu? And how will market conditions, supply and pricing all play out to meet consumer demands? On February 4, as part of the 2014 Cattle Industry Annual Convention & NCBA Trade ShowMidan Marketing and CattleFax will present “Understanding Consumer Mindset & Current Beef Consumption Trends”, a comprehensive overview of beef supply and economic conditions and consumers’ attitudes and behaviors around fresh meat purchases. NCBA convention attendees can join the session on February 4, 2013 from 1pm-2:30pm CST at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. The session will also be accessible as a live webinar for meat industry influencers to participate remotely. In the first half of the session Alan Smith, director of protein research and risk management at CattleFax, will provide the latest data on the economics of the meat industry, including cattle and competitive protein supply, demand, and pricing.  Midan Marketing principal, Michael Uetz, will then share research on consumer attitudes and behaviors as it relates to beef purchasing and consumption. His research will give insights into the biggest drivers impacting meat purchasing, and their implications for companies working to keep meat top of mind for consumers. Research findings will include how today’s consumers are dealing with key issues such as higher food prices, the importance of healthy living and perceptions of modern agriculture.
