Delhaize Group has chosen the Herkimer Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy Store Manager, Michael Rondenelli, as its Store Manager of the Year for 2015.  He was chosen from among the 3,500 store managers in the six countries that Delhaize operates supermarkets.

The annual award recognizes outstanding performance, in terms of store leadership, operational excellence, people management, financial performance and upholding company values.

Hannaford previously recognized Rondenelli as the Ronald C. Hodge Retailer of the Year, from among the company's store managers in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.

"This is truly a great accomplishment," says Frans Muller, Delhaize Group president and CEO, who announced the award via a video presentation at a recent event. "Michael, you give the best of yourself every day, and you are known for your great leadership, positive attitude and excellent customer service."

In addition to his management of the Herkimer Hannaford, Rondenelli is known for his effectiveness in working to strengthen the community through charitable activities and by connecting with local causes.

The award represents the second consecutive year that a Hannaford store leader has been named as Store Manager of the Year for Delhaize Group. Michael Carrier, who is Hannaford's Store Manager in Londonderry, N.H., received the recognition for 2014.
