Texas grocery chain H-E-B has broken ground on its third location in Georgetown, Texas, about 30 miles north of downtown Austin.

Located near the intersection of Ronald Reagan Blvd. and Ranch Road 2338, the new 112,000-square-foot supermarket is set to open sometime in the summer of 2025, the grocer said in a press release.

The supermarket will include a fuel station, car wash, drive-thru pharmacy, and a dedicated parking area for curbside pickup.

H-E-B said the store will also feature a full-service bakery and tortilleria, deli, wine and beer department, and a sushiya with handmade sushi.

The grocer currently does not have plans to include a True Texas BBQ restaurant like its Georgetown location which opened last summer at Wolf Lakes Village, according to an email from an H-E-B spokesperson. H-E-B’s most recent store opening in June in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro suburb of Mansfield also included a True Texas BBQ. H-E-B opened its first Fort Worth location in April.

The grocer opened four more locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area in 2023 in Allen, Frisco, Plano, and McKinney.

The company has donated $5,000 each to Georgetown ISD Education Foundation, Brookwood in Georgetown, The Caring Place, and Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown.

H-E-B opened its first Georgetown store in 1966, and a second in June of 2023. The new store is part of the San Antonio-based grocer’s rapid expansion in the Lone Star State.

H-E-B operates 435 stores in Texas and Mexico and employs more than 160,000 people.
