Discount grocer Aldi opened two new stores, one in Georgia and the other in Michigan, on Thursday.

The Cedar Springs, Mich., store is located at 14050 Edgerton Ave., and the Tifton, Ga., store is at 1805 West U.S. Highway 82, the company said.

Both stores are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., the company said, and the first 100 customers received gift bags, Aldi products, and a gift card. They also get the chance to enter a sweepstakes.

The openings follow an announcement in early March that Aldi plans to spend $9 billion to open 800 new U.S. locations by the end of 2028.

That expansion includes the purchase of Southeastern Grocers, owner of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets, which will add nearly 330 locations in the Northeast and Midwest.
