Publix is planning to open a new store in Kentucky, according to a news report from Fox19Now.

The Florida-based grocery chain will open the new 48,387-square-foot store in Independence, Ky., Publix spokesperson Jared Glover told the news organization.

The news follows the grocer’s announcement in June that it had purchased land near the Kentucky cities of Florence and Union with plans to open another location.

Publix also plans to open locations at the Triple Crown Shopping Center in Union and in Cold Spring, Ky., in the southeast corner of the state, according to Fox19Now.
