Schnuck Markets is set to open its second Eatwell Market on Wednesday, March 29, in Chesterfield, Missouri.

The new 30,000-square-foot store, located at 220 THF Blvd., in the St. Louis suburb, will specialize in natural and organic foods, St. Louis-based Schnucks announced Monday. The regional grocer had unveiled plans for the new Eatwell location, its second, in early November.

A Schnucks spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment on the new store.

The first Eatwell Market opened in Columbia, Missouri, in June 2020. That location was expanded in August 2022 with the addition of a Schnucks Express location. The expansion came after customers requested more conventional products, the grocer told Winsight Grocery Business at the time.

Schnucks said the new Eatwell in Chesterfield will provide “opportunities for customers to discover new items each time they shop.”

“We look forward to introducing St. Louis-area customers to our Eatwell Market, which will bring them a ‘beyond the expected’ shopping experience,” Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck said in a statement. “This store will allow us to build on our mission to nourish people’s lives by offering shoppers a store where they can stay focused on health and wellness while also discovering new, local items.”

The Chesterfield Eatwell Market will carry organic produce as well as “a large array of conventionally grown fruits and vegetables,” according to Schnucks. Also, the meat department will offer products that are free of antibiotics or growth hormones.

The company also highlighted sections offering made-to-order products such as pizzas and sandwiches, store-cut artisanal cheeses and charcuteries, an olive bar and an artificial intelligence-powered “smart salad bar.”

The new Eatwell, which will be Schnucks’ 115th location, will be managed by Taylor Clark, who is relocating from Schnucks in Maplewood, Missouri. The store will employ roughly 75 people on the outset and is still hiring, the grocer noted.

Overall, Schnucks currently operates 114 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
