Sprouts Farmers Market has opened its second store in Bakersfield, Calif.

A “pop-up party” gave shoppers the opportunity to taste seasonal produce from the tasting bar and participate in a “guess the weight” contest of an oversized piece of produce.

The first 100 shoppers on Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, received a free “Goodness it’s Free” reusable goodie bag filled with special products and samples.

Inside the store shoppers were able to taste new products while enjoying music and prize giveaways throughout the weekend.

There was also the chance to win a $500 Sprouts gift card through the website, and those who texted “BAKE” to 777-688 received 20% off their purchase during the grand opening festivities.

“This addition to our community provides access to fresh, healthy food options, and creates job opportunities for our residents,” said Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh. “Sprouts Farmers Market serves as a testament to the progress of Bakersfield’s growth and attraction of high-quality businesses.”
