Target has partnered with Chobani to offer a Chobani Café in its first Manhattan flexible-format store in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, which will open in October.
Guests will find the Mediterranean yogurt bar on the store’s first floor, featuring a menu of culinary creations made from Chobani’s signature Greek yogurt and hand-selected, artisanal ingredients. In addition to both sweet and savory yogurt creations, the café will offer sandwiches, soups, coffee and desserts, all made with only natural ingredients.
This will be Chobani’s second café. The first—Chobani SoHo—opened in the heart of New York’s SoHo neighborhood in 2012, and has since gained a legion of fans.
“The Chobani Café is a really special part of the brand that sets us apart and allows our beliefs around great food and great design to come to life. For us, it's a sort of a test kitchen for what you'll see us doing down the road, and for our fans, it's come to represent an incubation and inspiration destination," says Peter McGuinness, chief marketing officer at Chobani. “As we look to expand our cafés in more locations, the partnership with Target Tribeca was a great way to do that in downtown New York City. It's a perfect location in a great format that gives us a new opportunity to be innovative while providing a unique guest experience."
Chobani has been a guest-favorite brand at Target for years, say company officials, and with its New York heritage, the new café was a perfect fit for our 45,000-square-foot flexible-format store in lower Manhattan.
The first level of the store will also feature Target’s exclusive, high-quality, affordable apparel and accessories, including the recently launched Who What Wear women’s fashion line. It’ll also have plenty of exclusive home products Target’s known for, like Threshold, Todd Oldham's Hand Made Modern and more.
The expansive lower level of the store will provide the neighborhood’s families and many office workers everything they need for a quick-trip shopping experience. Along with a CVS Pharmacy, shoppers will also find fresh and organic produce, grab-and-go meals, baby and kids’ items, pet supplies, tech accessories, home organization and storage items, party and office supplies, and more. In addition, the company is testing new fixtures in its apparel and home décor departments too, and enhanced displays in our health and beauty and electronics and entertainment departments.
“Through Target’s flexible-format stores, we’re able to build customized stores in urban neighborhoods—like the Tribeca store—to make it easier for guests to shop,” says Anne Stanchfield, vice president, flexible formats and localization at Target. “There are a number of things we’re excited to share with guests who shop the Tribeca store, including the freshness and convenience of Chobani Café, trendy and affordable apparel and home products and a merchandise presentation that will make it fun and easy to shop.”
