LogicLane LLC (LogicLane), a discount wholesale grocery supply chain services business with an e-commerce marketplace that is emerging from invitation-only beta testing, announced its first community retail outlet – Mill Street Merchants – in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.  Mill Street Merchants will deliver the extreme value deals only available to national businesses on LogicLane.com to local Southwestern Pennsylvania businesses and consumers.

"Our Mill Street Merchants business model is simple," says Patrick Esposito, chief executive officer at LogicLane and Mill Street Merchants.  "Tons of great food gets lost in the distribution cycle and goes to waste.  Mill Street Merchants helps to eliminate food waste by finding groceries at huge discounts and, then, passing these extreme discounts onto our customers – both businesses and consumers.  Anything that doesn't get purchased quickly at Mill Street Merchants or online at LogicLane.com gets donated to local charities for use."

The National Resources Defense Council published an issue paper which indicated that over 40 percent of the U.S. food supply is wasted, totaling a staggering $165 billion annually, with a significant portion lost in the distribution cycle due to inefficient models and mechanisms to support non-traditional delivery of food and beverage products into the marketplace, company officials say.  Mill Street Merchants and LogicLane meet this demand and target the roughly $40 billion of food waste that occurs between food producers, food distributors and retailers.

"Mill Street Merchants has a team of experienced food merchants that sources high-integrity, brand name food and beverage products at opportunistic prices from trusted manufacturers and distributors," says John Gabriel Sr., chief marketing officer at LogicLane and Mill Street Merchants.  "Mill Street Merchants specializes in finding products that are outside of the normal retail distribution process to bring extreme values and amazing deals to customers and, in the process, help to stop food waste," Gabriel added.

Mill Street Merchants and LogicLane were formed by experienced merchants and technology entrepreneurs with deep market experience that allows the businesses to deliver strong value for its customers.  The founding team includes former executives from national discount retailers, venture-backed technology companies, and public technology and financial sector companies.
