KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Food City on Monday held groundbreaking ceremonies for two new stores to be built here next year, local reports said.
Officials for Food City parent K-VA-T Foods, Bristol, Va., will build a 52,000-square-foot new store in Powell, Tenn., expected to open in the spring of 2013, and a 47,000-square-foot store in Vonore set to open in late summer, according to the Advocate & Democrat newspaper. The Powell store will replace an existing Food City nearby.
Each store will represent a $6 million to $10 million investment.
