Whole Foods Market opened its first Cape Cod store in Hyannis, Mass., with an emphasis on fresh local foods like breads, seafood and ice cream.
The 28,000-square-foot location features multiple unique offerings, such as made-to-order sandwiches on local Pain D’Avignon bread and a waffle bar that uses local Four Seas Ice Cream in the bakery.
The store has three walk-up seasonal service windows for prepared foods, which include lobster rolls, hot dogs, burritos and pizza. Inside, the Cod Café sells hot, cold and frozen Allegro coffee drinks, frozen yogurt, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies.
A cheese room has 100 different cheeses, almost half of which are produced locally.
“We’ve created a community market that we feel truly reflects all of the best attributes of Cape Cod, from the products to the decor,” store team leader, Dianne Dickson, said in a media release.
“We hope our customers, whether they are year-long residents or vacationing on the Cape, will love to shop with us for the food, the fun and the great value.”
