Online pharmacy Visory Health has named Kroger and its more than 2,000 pharmacies across 35 states as its preferred partner for pharmaceutical orders.

The prescription platform, which provides customers without insurance affordable drugs through its online prescription discount card, will now direct its users to the Kroger-owned pharmacies at its namesake brand as well as King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Smith’s, Fry’s, and others.

“We’ve been working with Kroger’s president, Colleen Lindholz, for quite some time and she does a tremendous job overseeing the company's operations, and leading the charge in its mission that food is medicine,” said Visory Health CEO Susan Lang, in a statement.

Alexandra Robertson, senior vice president of growth at Visory Health, added that the preferred partner status positions Kroger’s nearly 11 million daily shoppers to take advantage of the service.

“We don’t want anyone to have to choose between their necessary prescriptions or groceries, and through this partnership people are able to have the best of both worlds.”

Visory Health made headlines in September by announcing a partnership with Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix, which began accepting the Visory Health cards at its 1,000-plus pharmacies.
