Walgreens is taking a hard look at hiring former Cigna executive Tim Wentworth as its next CEO, reports Bloomberg News, which cited people familiar with the situation.

Wentworth was CEO of Cigna’s Evernorth before retiring in 2021. According to Bloomberg News, a final decision has still not been reached.

Former Walgreens Boots Alliance CEO Roz Brewer stepped down from the position in early September and is no longer serving on the company’s board of directors.

Ginger Graham, the lead independent director of Walgreens, is serving as the interim CEO while the pharmacy retailer searches for a permanent replacement.

According to a statement from Walgreens, Brewer’s decision to depart was mutual and Brewer would stay on to serve as an advisor until a new CEO was named.
