Walmart Health plans to double in size in 2024
The company plans to open 28 locations, expanding into two new states – Missouri and Arizona
Walmart Health, which opened its first center in 2019, is now planning a big push — with a plan to open 28 new Walmart Health center locations in 2024. The expansion also includes locations in two new states – Missouri and Arizona – and will additionally deepen the company’s presence in Texas.
By the end of 2024, Walmart says it plans to have 75 Walmart Health centers across the U.S.
The first of the new centers will tentatively open in the first quarter of 2024, including:
10 locations in the Dallas, Texas metro area
Eight locations in the Houston, Texas metro area
Six locations in the Phoenix, Ariz. metro area
Four locations in the Kansas City, Mo. metro area
In a press release, Walmart said the new locations will incorporate feedback from patients, including changing the physical footprint and layout of the center so patients spend less time in the waiting room and more time with their doctor. The centers will also integrate the Epic electronic health record system.
The new facilities will be approximately 5,750 square feet, located inside Walmart Supercenters, and will have a range of services including primary care, dental care, behavioral health, labs and X-ray, audiology and Walmart Health Virtual Care telehealth services.
