Stop & Shop is getting into the coffee business with the release of its Taste of Inspirations private-label coffee brand.

The line includes seven varieties made from Arabica beans and is available for drip coffee makers and in single-serve K-Cup pods.

The brand includes Bold Barista, Cozy Cabin, Dawn’s Dance, Smoky Symphony, Sunrise Solace, Tropical Twist, and Mellow Moonlight (decaf).

“Our mission with Taste of Inspirations is to deliver premium products at an unbeatable value for our shoppers,” said Natalia Torres-Furtado, vice president of category management at Stop & Shop.

The new brand is through a collaboration with coffee consultant Andrew Hetzel, Stop & Shop said in a press release.

“Taste of Inspirations brought me a new challenge: creating a premium coffee line that could compete with bigger brands at a better price point and still be exceptional on their own,” Hetzel said. “After many months and hundreds of tastings later, we’ve landed on a collection that is distinguished and delicious.”

Starting this weekend, the brand will be available at all 360 Stop & Shop locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.

Both the 12 oz. packaged bags and the K-Cup pods run $7.99. Members of Stop & Shop’s GO Rewards loyalty program can purchase the coffee for $6.99 for a limited time.

The rapid growth of private-label brands has had a big impact on coffee sales in recent years. According to a report from data analytics firm Numerator in June of 2023, private-label coffee brands made up nearly 15% of the total market.
