LAKELAND, Fla. — M. Clayton Hollis Jr., vice president of public affairs at Publix Super Markets here, plans to retire at the end of the year, a spokeswoman for the chain told SN Monday.

LAKELAND, Fla. — M. Clayton Hollis Jr., vice president of public affairs at Publix Super Markets here, plans to retire at the end of the year, a spokeswoman for the chain told SN Monday.

Hollis’ areas of responsibility include media and communications, government relations, corporate communications, customer care and social media. He has been with the employee-owned company for 40 years. A successor has not yet been identified, the spokeswoman, Maria Brous, told SN.

Hollis’ father, Mark C. Hollis, retired as president of the company in 1996.
