WASHINGTON — The hearing to uphold the Federal Trade Commission’s proposal to block the acquisition of Wild Oats Markets by Whole Foods Market is set to begin in federal district court here today. The hearing is scheduled to end tomorrow, with a ruling scheduled for Friday. Law firm Vinson & Elkins here is representing Whole Foods, while Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, New York, represents Wild Oats.
