The Fresh Market opens 160th store
Grocer starts another business in Indiana, its fifth store in the state
The Fresh Market, Inc. believes it has a distinct advantage over the competition by claiming it offers fresh food that is hard to find and ingredients that come from all over, including locally.
The grocer opened the doors to its 160th store in Carmel, Ind. There are now five locations in the state and two in Carmel, an Indianapolis suburb.
To celebrate the grand opening, a featured “bread breaking” ceremony took place on May 24, including vendor sampling, specialty presentations, giveaways, drawings, etc., to officially welcome Carmel guests to the new store. The Fresh Market also will be offering special deals and promotions throughout Memorial Day weekend.
The new store offers a selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, and bakery items, as well as a variety of prepared foods, a large gourmet cheese selection, and wines.
The Carmel location also features a full-service floral department and a “special sensory experience for its guests — a center store culinary kitchen called The Square,” where guests can visit a made-to-order station with hot soups, customizable burrito bowls and wraps, torta, and Cuban sandwiches. It also includes a build-your-own fresh salad.
There also is an assortment of fresh hot foods including roasted salmon, in-house slow-roasted pulled pork with signature sauce, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, in-house fried chicken, and hot sides.
