The winners will get to exchange their vows at a wedding and reception with up to 50 friends and family at the Aldi Insights Center in Batavia, Ill.Aldi

It will be a marriage made in Aldi.

In a novel marketing campaign by Aldi U.S., couples ready to tie the knot are invited to enter a contest to exchange their vows during a wedding surrounded by up to 50 friends and family at the Aldi Insights Center, the retailer’s model store at its headquarters in Batavia, Ill.

Aldi U.S. said Wednesday its fans have frequently celebrated life’s milestones in Aldi-themed marriage proposals, engagement photos, birthdays and even baby showers. But the discount grocer said it now wants to give something back.

Aldi also will present a special wedding gift to the newlyweds — groceries for a year, given as $5,000 in Aldi gift cards.

“Every time our shoppers include us in one of their big moments, we feel the #ALDILove,” Kate Kirkpatrick, director of communications at Aldi U.S., said in a statement. “We’re showing our #ALDILove in return by giving one crazy-in-love-with-ALDI couple an opportunity to celebrate the ultimate life milestone with us."

The wedding party will get a behind the scenes look at the Aldi Insights Center, where Aldi is transforming the whole space for the nuptials, which will be officiated by an Aldi employee. Included is a photoshoot in front of a store.

Aldi will also host a reception for the newlyweds. The store-brand food and beverages will include a tiered wedding cake baked with Baker’s Corner ingredients and appetizers such as Aldi’s mini Red Bag Chicken sliders. Custom wedding favors will go to the guests.

The final gift to the newlyweds will be groceries for a year, to be awarded as $5,000 in Aldi gift cards.

The campaign runs through Aug. 17. In entering the contest, couples describe what makes their love story special and why they deserve to be the first bride and groom ever to be married at Aldi.

Overall, Aldi operates approximately 2,200 stores in 38 states.
