In another sign that opening day is nearing, Publix Super Markets on Monday announced plans to host in-person interviews and hiring events this week for its new supermarket coming to Louisville, Kentucky.

The grocer has yet to say when its first Kentucky store will open its doors, but it will host hiring events on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 pm. at the Embassy Suites Louisville East at 9940 Corporate Campus Drive.

Hiring will include all departments and all eligible associates will receive these benefits:

  • Employee stock ownership and purchase plans.

  • 401 (k) retirement savings plan with a matching contribution.

  • Group health plan.

  • Group dental and vision plan.

Kentucky is the eighth state for the fast-growing Florida retailer's portfolio and the company launched the Hello, Kentucky website earlier this year for those interested in staying up to date with the details of the highly anticipated 55,701-square-foot store at Market at Terra Crossing.

“Moving into Kentucky is a natural progression for our company, and we are excited to serve and be a part of this vibrant community,” Todd Jones, CEO of Publix, said in a statement announcing the grocer’s entrance into this new market.

The employee-owned retailer has other locations underway in Kentucky, including two more stores coming to Louisville and two planned for Lexington.
