Discount grocer Aldi ended the year with new store openings in four different states, announcing new locations in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Arkansas on Dec. 21.

The grocery chain opened new locations at breakneck speed in 2023, launching 11 new locations in December alone, with 10 openings happening on Dec. 7.

The company said it has opened more than 1,000 U.S. locations over the past decade.

The four most recent openings were in Watchung, N.J. ; Williamsport, Pa.; North Port, Fla.; and Springdale, Ark.

A dunnhumby report in August ranked Aldi as the 13th largest U.S. grocery chain with 2.1% of the grocery retail market. The company planned to open 120 new stores in 2023 and added about 400 additional locations with the purchase of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets from Southeastern Grocers last year.
