Big Y to bake paczki for a limited time

Big Y is preparing for the arrival of the paczki.

The retailer will bake the traditional Polish doughnuts in its bakery during the weeks before Lent, the 40-day period leading up to Easter during which many people give up sweets. Lent begins on March 5.

The rich treats are deep fried, shaped into flattened spheres and filled with fruit or creme filling.
