Raley’s held its first Cake Games among associates to pick the best cake in its stores.
Six finalists crafted special cakes, including an owl and a teapot, that were judged on aesthetics, taste and costing.
The retailer named Kristen Bundsen-Goodrich of its Placerville, Calif., store as the winner.
Raley's bakeries typically make a variety of cakes, including two-layer cakes, cake pops, sheet cakes, gourmet cakes and seasonal cakes. Some cakes can be customized with designs or photos.
