Local cider poured at Price Chopper

Price Chopper Supermarkets' new Market Bistro banner pours growlers of craft cider made from local apples.

The just-opened Latham, N.Y., store hosted an in-store sampling this week of Nine Pin Cider, Albany, N.Y., which is sourced entirely from Capital Region & Hudson Valley Apples.

The store’s growler station pours other regional craft brews, including Saranac Wild Hop, Wolaver’s Wildflower Wheat and Brown’s Pale Ale.

Growler Stations also operate in three Price Chopper-banner stores.

Market Bistro’s Growler Station is one of many unique offerings at the store. As reported, other specialty products and services include store-grown hydroponic tomatoes; an infused oil and vinegar filling station; and a gluten-free department.

There’s also “Bistro Boulevard,” a section where multiple eateries — including custom burgers, fresh sushi, burritos and stone-fired pizza — are located.
