MINNEAPOLIS - Supervalu here announced the appointment of Daymon Worldwide as the sales and marketing partner for the company‘s newly combined Own Brands private-label organization yesterday. Daymon Worldwide was Supervalu‘s private-label sales and marketing provider prior to the retailer‘s acquisition of Albertsons. Supervalu anticipates that the transition of all Own Brands programs will be complete by Feb. 1. “Our main goal was to select a partner whose strengths in brand management and retail merchandising can help us to achieve our objectives in delivering revenue growth behind market-leading mega-brands,” said Michael Witynski, group vice president for Supervalu‘s Our Own Brands, in a statement. “Daymon already has a strong history with Supervalu, including development and launch of the company‘s successful Carlita, Stone Ridge and Nature‘s Best Brands.”
