Minnesota-based global health nonprofit Matter’s recent “competitive packing experience” event, Matterbox Madness, held at the Mall of America, resulted in nearly 10,000 healthy Matterbox Snack Packs assembled for distribution to a variety of summer youth programs throughout the Twin Cities.

Matterbox Snack Packs include a quick snack of a protein, fruit and healthy carbohydrate, along with an educational Matter challenge card to help kids better understand the crucial role of healthy eating in their daily lives. Each snack pack also contained a handwritten "You Matter" note of encouragement.

Supporting companies included BMO Harris Bank, Boston Scientific, Cargill, City View Electric and Hubbard Broadcasting, all of which “understand the importance of providing healthy food to kids, especially in the summer months, when demand is much higher,” said Tyler Van Eps, VP of corporate relations for Matter.

Now in its third year, Matterbox Madness is a high-energy event that pits teams from different companies against each other in a spirited bracket-style competition to see which team can bundle the snack packs in the shortest amount of time. The winner of this year’s competition was Little & Co., a Minneapolis-based branding agency nationally recognized for using the power of design thinking to redefine brands, according to the company.
