QUINCY, Mass. — Stop & Shop here will have the Modiv DeliVision, a deli management system that can tell shoppers how long they have to wait on line, in more than 200 stores by the end of March, Modiv Media, Boston, announced today. The system will also be in five stores operated by Ahold USA sister company Giant Food Stores, Landover, Md., Robert Wesley, president and chief executive officer, Modiv Media, told SN. Currently the system is in 170 Stop & Shop and Giant Food stores, with many of the installations taking place in the third quarter, said Wesley. SN reported last week that Stop & Shop has completed installing Modiv Media’s EasyShop portable shopping device in 90 stores; Wesley declined to say how many stores have both EasyShop and DeliVision. The DeliVision system combines queue optimization and kiosk deli ordering, enabling customers to place their deli order without waiting in line, telling the customer when the order will be filled, and offering targeted, relevant offers. “DeliVision gives us an opportunity to enhance customer satisfaction and increase our efficiency,” said Christine Dorman, senior vice president, operational and strategic initiatives and support services, for Stop & Shop, in a statement.
