AWI Names Two New Division Presidents
Associated Wholesalers Inc. last week said it has named Bernie Ellis president of its AWI division here and Joseph Fantozzi president of its White Rose division in Carteret, N.J., both effective Jan. 1, 2010.

ROBESONIA, Pa. — Associated Wholesalers Inc. last week said it has named Bernie Ellis president of its AWI division here and Joseph Fantozzi president of its White Rose division in Carteret, N.J., both effective Jan. 1, 2010.
Ellis currently is executive vice president of sales, marketing, category management and merchandising at AWI. Fantozzi is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the White Rose division.
In addition, Audrey Schein has been promoted to vice president of human resources at the AWI division. She had been director of human resources. Schein will continue to report to Thomas Teeter, executive vice president of finance and administration.
Also, Charles Yahn, executive vice president of sales and store development, AWI, and Jack Zumba, executive vice president of sales and store development, White Rose, will retire effective January 2010.
"AWI members and customers recognize the significant contributions of these outstanding executives to the success of our organization," said Christopher Michaels, chief executive officer, AWI, in a letter provided to SN.
Zumba spent 15 years with White Rose and 15 years with Fleming — Royal Dairy, and Yahn had a 40-year career with AWI. White Rose and AWI merged in 2006.
