Fiesta Mart LLC of Houston has appointed Sid Keswani as its new CEO. The retail veteran replaced outgoing CEO Mike Byars, effective yesterday.

“We are very excited that Sid is joining Fiesta at this time in our growth strategy,” Ken Brotman, managing partner at ACON Investments, said in a statement. ACON is the investment firm that owns Fiesta. “He brings a great deal of relevant experience and skills to Fiesta as we look forward to our next phase of growth.”

Brotman also thanked Byars, who had been with the company since 2015, for “shepherding [the] brand through a time of great change while planting the seeds for growth.”

Keswani arrives directly from a three-year tenure as the COO of Aspen Heights, a real estate development firm in Austin, Texas.

He also spent 19 years with the Target Corp., rising to the rank of senior vice president. After that, Keswani served as SVP of operations for Susser Holdings, where in 18 months he helped to add over 125 retail stores to the company’s portfolio.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University, Keswani earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.

“I’m honored and excited to begin my new role at Fiesta Mart,” Keswani said in the release. “I am eager to work with the entire Fiesta team to create an even more dynamic shopping experience that provides the highest quality service and international product lines that Fiesta is known for. I have developed a deep appreciation for Fiesta’s people and values. I look forward to working together with everyone tied to Fiesta during this transformative period.”

Fiesta Mart currently has 68 stores in the Houston, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth markets.
