Mayer plans retirement from Smucker

John Mayer, VP of U.S. retail sales for the J.M. Smucker Co. will retire from the company on July 31, 2016, the company announced.

During his 35-year tenure with Smucker, Mayer has held a variety of sales roles. In his current position, Mayer has been instrumental at building the company’s retail customers base and helped develop the current sales organization to support the company’s growing portfolio of brands, according to Smucker.

Mayer will be replaced by Kevin Jackson who will be promoted to VP, U.S. retail sales and market development organization, effective Jan. 1, 2016. Jackson, who’s been with Smuckers for nearly 14 years is VP and general manager of foodservice.
