In a recent call with analysts, McMullen praised Dillon’s contributions to Kroger. “Dave has been a friend and a leader to all of us and a mentor to many of us. Thousands of associates can relate to that comment. For me personally, Dave has been a partner like no other. On behalf of the entire Kroger family, we wish Dave and his family all the best as they begin the next chapter together,” he said.
Kroger also honored Dillon’s contributions to the company’s growth, the business model of price investments and progress in sustainability.
Kroger also announced that Nora Aufreiter, director emeritus of McKinsey & Company, was elected to the board. She will serve on the board until June 2015, when she will be up for election by shareholders.
"We are delighted to welcome Nora to Kroger," said Dillon, in a media statement. "With her broad business experience and consumer and digital expertise, Nora will be a great addition to Kroger's Board."
