SpartanNash said Thursday that Mike Pahud has been promoted to COO of its newly acquired Caito Foods Service division, effective immediately.

Pahud (pictured) had been serving as CFO of Caito since joining the company in 2013. SpartanNash completed an acquisition of Caito’s fresh foods and Blue Ribbon Transport assets earlier this year, and has played a key role in integration of the companies, officials said.

Pahud.jpgCaito is expected to enhance SpartanNash’s fresh offerings for its owned stores and distribution customers. The acquisition includes produce distribution business, cut fruits and vegetables and a newly constructed 118,000-square-foot USDA-certified Fresh Kitchen facility, which is designed to process and package fresh prepared foods.

“Mike’s performance and commitment has been a tremendous asset in supporting Caito’s growth and performance improvement over the past several years,” Bob Kirch, EVP of SpartanNash and president of Caito, aid in a release. “He also plays a key role as a member of the SpartanNash-Caito-BRT Integration Management Office. We look forward to the contributions Mike will make in his new role.”

In addition to his current responsibilities of managing finance and information technology for Caito, Pahud will assume responsibility for sales, procurement and operations. He will continue to report to Karch.

Pahud joined Caito Foods from R. W. Armstrong and Associates. During his time at Caito Foods, he has led multiple initiatives which were necessary to build sustainable platforms and systems and handle the company’s future growth.
