IGA-associated independent California Fresh Market said this week that it has signed a lease for a new store at a former Albertsons and Haggen site in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The supermarket is expected to open in late August, according to the company, which also operates stores in Pismo Beach, and Santa Ynez, Calif.

Those markets are known for a distinctive mix of gourmet foods and value priced national brands, together with unique store-made cuisine and beverages, the company said in a release.

Exclusive private label offerings from California Fresh include fresh roasted coffee beans, scratch baked breads, fresh squeezed orange juice, Cabernet and Chardonnay wines, smoked tri-tip and chicken, handmade sausages and more.

The company is co-owned by partners Alfred Holzheu, Greg King and Sean Walwick. California Fresh has been awarded IGA’s Grocery Store of the Year in California.
