Albertsons LLC to Remodel 20% of DFW Stores

BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC here said it plans to make "a significant capital investment" in its existing store base in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The company did not say how much the investment would be but indicated it would involve makeovers at approximately 25 stores. With 88 division stores in Texas, 18 in Louisiana and one in Arkansas, the remodeling activity will affect more than 20% of the store base, the company pointed out.

Albertsons also said it has entered into an agreement to open a new store in Mandeville, La., on the site of a former A&P.
