Anthony J. Rouse

THIBODAUX, La. — Services were held here last week for Anthony J. Rouse, founder of Rouses Markets. He died the previous week at age 79. Rouse, who grew up working in his father's wholesale produce business, left in 1960 to open his own grocery store in Houma, La., with his cousin. The store was renamed Rouses in 1975, and the company, now based here, gradually expanded.
