KEENE, N.H. — C&S Wholesale Grocers here said Tuesday that it has joined with the nonprofit charity First Book to distribute 50,000 books to school-age children near its headquarters in southwest New Hampshire.

The “Food for the Body, Food for the Mind” program provided disadvantaged children in the region three free new books and provided area libraries with access to First Book resources, the companies said.
