FMI to recognize store manager standouts

The Food Marketing Institute will announce four grand prize winners of its Store Manager Awards on June 10 at FMI Connect in Chicago.

The Food Marketing Institute will announce four grand prize winners of its Store Manager Awards on June 10 at FMI Connect in Chicago.

According to FMI, the awards recognize exceptional supermarket managers who generate sales growth, provide great customer service, contribute to attaining company goals and play an integral part of their communities.

The association announced a new social media award this year — called “People’s Pick” — in which the nominee who receives the most “likes” on the FMI Facebook page will receive $500.

The nominees are:

Brian Hayes, manager of a Super Saver in Lincoln, Neb.

Elizabeth Haywood, manager at the People’s Food Cooperative in Rochester, Minn.

Bernie McGoldrick, manager of a ShopRite Supermarket in Chester, N.Y.

Mark Hubbard, manager of a 55,000-square-foot Food City in Kingsport, Tenn.

William Martin, manager of a Giant Food/Martin’s store in Camp Hill, Pa.

Will McDevitt, manager of a Weis Markets store in Fogelsville, Pa.

Steve Gannon, manager of a Winn-Dixie in Cantonment, Fla.

Brian Wilken, manager of a Hy-Vee in Charles City, Iowa

Josh Wise, a manager for a Kroger Co. store in Westerville, Ohio

Charlynne Stunder, manager of an Overwaitea Food store in Vancouver, British Columbia
