NEW YORK — A new Foodtown location in the Bronx will hold grand opening ceremonies here Thursday, according to Allegiance Retail Services, the Iselin, N.J.-based marketing service firm.

The store is owned and operated by Nasri Abed and is located on Featherbed Lane in the Morris Heights neighborhood at the site of a former clothing store.

“We are extremely proud and excited to have another Foodtown location open in the Bronx,” David Maniaci, chairman and chief executive officer of Allegiance, said in a statement.

Since the Foodtown cooperative formed Allegiance Retail last year to service non-Foodtown banners, it has expanded with the addition of several new retailers, including D’Agostino’s and La Bella Marketplace in New York, and Kam Man Food in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
