GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Fresh Market was to have closed its store here Sunday, signaling its exit from the Michigan market, published reports said. The Greensboro, N.C.-based specialty retailer had opened here two years ago and in Rochester Hills, Mich., in 2006.
The latter location closed within a year due to poor market conditions, according to the Grand Rapid Press newspaper. The Grand Rapids store was scheduled to close Sunday, the newspaper said, citing a company release.
